Ingredients
Substitutions
• 500 milliliters żur (fermented rye starter) or sour rye flour base
• 1 liter stock (vegetable or light chicken)
• 200 grams smoked sausage, sliced
• 100 grams bacon, diced
• 1 onion, chopped
• 2 boiled eggs, halved
• 2 table spoons sour cream
• 2 bay leaves
• 3 garlic cloves
• Salt and black pepper
• Bacon: smoked ham or omit for lighter version.
• Sour cream: yogurt.
• Rye starter: kefir mixed with rye flour for a quick version.

1. Fry onion and bacon in a pot until golden.
2. Add sausage slices, garlic, and bay leaves. Cook 5 minutes.
3. Pour in stock and bring to a simmer.
4. Add rye starter gradually, stirring, and cook gently 20 minutes.
5. Stir in sour cream. Season with salt and black pepper.
6. Serve with boiled egg halves in each bowl.
