Ingredients

Substitutions

For the dough:
• 500 grams wheat flour
• 250 milliliters warm milk
• 20 grams fresh yeast (or 7 g dry yeast)
• 50 grams butter, melted
• 1 egg
• 1 tea spoon salt
For the filling:
• 400 grams white cabbage
• 200 grams mushrooms
• 1 onion
• 2 table spoons oil
• Salt and black pepper

• Filling: use sauerkraut instead of fresh cabbage.
• Mushrooms: dried forest mushrooms for stronger flavor.
• Dough: store-bought yeast dough.

Allergens

Gluten (flour), Dairy (milk, butter), Egg

1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with a pinch of sugar. Rest 10 minutes.
2. Add flour, butter, egg, and salt. Knead until smooth, cover, and rise for 1 hour.
3. Chop cabbage and cook in salted water until soft. Drain well.
4. Chop mushrooms and onion. Fry in oil until golden. Mix with cabbage. Season.
5. Roll out dough, spread filling in the center. Fold and seal edges to form a loaf.
6. Place on baking tray, rest 20 minutes.
7. Bake at 180°C for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.

How to make

Serving tip

Serve warm, sliced thick, with beet soup.
